Living in South Carolina I can attest to it being a relatively peaceful place, minus our fair share of crazies and kooks like anywhere else. When SHTF, we don't riot or cause more damage than has already been done (like in some places we know). To do such in this tragic situation would simply be a dream come true to this lunatic who said, himself, wanted to start a "civil war". Instead, we come together to peacefully and logically reconcile such difficult problems.
President Obama and the mainstream media like to make us believe a flag and a gun were the main culprits in The Emanuel A.M.E. Church shooting. Did a gun walk into the church, smile, sit down on a pew in a prayer meeting for an hour then suddenly start shooting innocent people? No. A man, whether clinically insane or otherwise, planned this attack six months in advance with the intentions of riling hatred against society to induce a "civil war".
For some to imply Dylann Roof committed this heinous act because of a gun or a flag is just as insane as the incident itself. The fact of the matter is liberals and this administration in general have a systematic aversion to holding an actual person responsible for their actions (unless its to their advantage). They'd rather blame soulless, inanimate objects for the wretched actions of an individual, as if these molded pieces of plastic and metal came to life to perform a macabre rendition of Toy Story.
Did the confederate flag tell Dylann Roof to murder nine people? Probably in his own crazed mind. But to many others it's a symbol of a bygone era that many still cherish for both its good and its bad qualities. Who are we or anyone for that matter to take that away from them?
Roof could've just as easily snuck a handaxe into the church then hacked the congregates to death. But would you outlaw or regulate axes? Probably not, as they are a useful tool necessary for some for everyday life. The same with a gun. To many a gun is in fact a necessity to life, whether that be for protection, hunting food, or simply the enjoyment of having a well stocked gun collection. In my opinion, it's irrelevant as to why a person wants to own a gun, just as long as their intentions are moral.
It doesn't matter if you regulate or ban guns, confederate flags, or anything for that matter. As human beings we'll find a loophole to everything. Take prohibition for example. Did banning alcohol really stop anyone from drinking it? No. Instead, new forms of criminality appeared, the Bootleggers, Moonshiners, Gangsters and sometimes Politicians. Has the bans and regulations on marijuana stopped anyone from getting a hold of a joint? No. But cartels and black market profiteers have gladly seized the opportunity. Point is, if people or criminals are hellbent on acquiring or doing something they'll find a way to do it no matter the laws or regulations.
On another note, the church was in a gun free zone yet did that stop Dylann Roof from bringing a gun into the area and shooting nine innocent victims to death? Absolutely not. Ironically, every law abiding citizen left what could've been their only saving grace, at home, nicely locked away in their gun safes.
